Downhill (DH) area

DH is a very skilled and exciting style of MTB riding. It is generally favored by the young rider. Due to it being a valley, RV LNR has a good profile to construct DH tracks. Many could be built following the line of the Valley. However a longer route is more desirable to develop world class riders

Phase 2 of the mountain bike park involves negotiations with Tameside Council to allow the construction of a purpose built DH park on old contaminated tip land. With the land being contaminated the construction of the hill will provide a physical barrier between the users of the land and the toxic waste under the land.

This Tameside phase of the project will construct a 2km line of dedicated DH track. As we will be constructing from 'scratch' all the skills needed to develop world class rider can be designed into the course. mA professional, experience DH design company would be used at this point such as Dragon Downhill. Dragon Downhill have constructed many routes and tracks in Wales.

Like the bike park within Reddish Vale, the Tameside extension will be tree planted to provide a woodland habitat and visually screen the DH tracks. Other less technical tracks will be incorporated into the hill for less experienced MTB'ers and cyclocross riders.
